Getting to know your international contacts

I reviewed the Childhood Poverty Research and Policy Centre’s page and found some information that really made me think about poverty in different Country’s it really shocked me to see how  China's population lived below the national poverty line. Then there’s the rural poverty area which is estimated to have fallen from 250 million in 1978 to 35 million in 2000.

There are about 15 to 31 million people live in poverty in China I couldn’t believe as I was reading about how poverty is in China

I thought sense so much  was made in China there wasn’t as much as poverty there but after researching information unfortunately it is and since China receives more foreign investment than any other country in the world except for the US I thought how is this one of the major country that live below the national poverty line. There are around  4.2 million Chinese children live in absolute poverty and 8.7 million live in disadvantaged conditions who would had ever thought children are still enduring conditions like this when other are living beyond their means.

                                                                   

Just image if your child or someone you know live the way the children in China did what would you want to do and how would you want to be apart of the change.

When I sign up I thought it was solely about head start program but it actually give you the updates about what Congress and the White house is doing about the budget for the head start program. I think this is an important site to get familiarize yourself with this type of information because it let's you know if head start will continue and what paths it is going in for the future. 

Their was valuable information I learned off the site which is listed below that I found was very informational to the EC field not only is it helpful and knowledgable but it guides you in the field. It came be from what area you chose to work in to what is going to happen in the future.

 I choose three Early childhood professional just in case I couldn't reach anyone no answer back yet but I will continue to email them throughout the week. After reviewing my email they keep sending the messages undiliverable so I am go to try the alternates but I will keep trying the day isn't over yet.

My Support

My daily support daily comes from many factors:

·       Effective communication I need to have this daily because it allows me to be functional and do my job.

·       Positive attitude is very important for me because in the human service field you get people who are angry everyday because of the way their life is no job, no food to eat so when I have a positive attitude it brings out something in the people I work with on a daily basis.

·       Empathy is also important because in order for me to work with children and families I have to be able to put myself in their shoes and understand how I can meet their needs.

·       Team work the type of environment I work in you have to have each other back because it takes a group to make things happen professional and productively.

·       Family and friends is part of my daily support because of the guidance and encouragement they have in me helps me want to accomplish more in life.

·       Good health is important because you can’t take care of other if you don’t take care of yourself.

Support means having a person, place or thing to be able to balance your daily life and it stressor. If I didn’t have the above factors in my life I would feel like a loner or someone who has to do it all by their self and that is impossible at times. A challenge I have and I need the support for is from my husband and it is for me to walk out on faith and open a childcare center. I would need him to be financial there for me and to take a chance without saying anything negative. A benefit for this support would allow me to be where I want to in my life and that is teaching and making a difference in children lives. If these support factors wasn’t in my life I guess I would feel a sense of not having someone in my corner or I would probably just stay in a position that I feel I am settling and not following my dreams. I feel everyone need some type of support in some shape, form or way so if you put all the factors that contributes to your daily environment that makes up your support you will continue to succeed.

People supported play when I was younger by letting me enjoy the outside by getting dirty, getting that daily exercise and being able to be in my fantasy world without thinking that I need therapy. Play is definite different from how it use to be today because more children rely on electronics which does not allow them to engage in play. I prefer children to go outside and get bumps and hurt they knee and  get back up and play some more vs. how they engage in play now. I wish child would just stop complaining about they don't have anything to do and go outside and make up games and be in the house before the street lights come on. I had an enjoyable childhood but as an adult I wish more children would just be kids and enjoy life to the fullest because playing and smiling makes you happy.

I maintain each relationship in different because each one of them is unique and I relate to each of them on different levels.

·        My mom she is the one person who has provided me the knowledge to go after anything I want in life so this helps me in my lifelong experiences.

·        Ted is my partner I chose in life so his role as a partner is not only love but it is also nurturing, supportive and always having my back and encouraging me to do what I have to do to succeed.

·        My children all of them are different but they all look up to their mom and it helps our relationship grow daily because not only are they learning something I am to it is from educating each other and knowing that school is everything and when you have people in your corner it really helps, so me and my children feed off each other and it helps our relationship because one day we will be partnership in business because we all like working in the Human Service field.

·        Katina we meet a few years ago and felt like we knew each other for years we have a special relationship she is actually the one told me about Walden and said it would be an good educational experience for you and I will help you if needed, I appreciate her because she is always willing to help and lend a hand she is honest, straight forward and very encouraging I am glad to have her in my life.

·        My siblings whom I always looked up to we are on different pages in life but our bonds with family is so important and that is what keep us connected I love each one of them and they can be really supportive.

·        Alesha is another friend whom I meet a few years ago she is the business mind one very intelligent, computer savvy and always willing to help a friend her empathy shows me that people do still have a heart and when you find that someone special keep them they are an asset not an liability.

·         Marina is the diva who people really do not understand we have a good relationship because she let her true feelings and emotions out to me and it showed me another side to her she is a person if you are real to her she will be real to you I am glad she is a part of my circle and I see her being there forever.

I maintain good relationships by being a good listener, friend, and someone who knows that it is alright to disagree at times and still be your friend and remembering there is a reason you have a relationship with this person so when you get mad remember the positive things of how they became a part of your life. Some special characteristics I see from some of these relationships is they are all unique and they have different aspects to our partnerships but is always willing to be there is some form or shape. My experiences with relationships/partnerships helps me to stay focus on my mission in life and that is to educate children as well as developing life skills that will help them succeed. It is from my own children which I want the best education for them to putting my goals into place of helping others. Then there is my spouse motivating me to never giving up and to always saying follow my dreams which helps me professional in the childcare field. Last but not least are my friends supporting me to go back to schools so I can fulfill my goals with having more knowledge so I can do what I like to do best and that is to educate children and families.
