Child Development and Public Health

Immunization is important to me for a number of reasons first, it protects you from different disease and major health problems. Second it make me come to the conclusion  about how it can save a life and if they didn't have immunization what would the world be like. After researching Africa and there immunization system I learned that over 10 million children die before their fifth birthday due to preventable childhood illnesses. I also learned that Africa Region falls behind in immunization coverage for children even though Africa has made many changes to ensure that the immunization performance catch up with other regions they have a way to go.

FACTS ABOUT IMMUNIZATION:

Immunization creates immunity  to certain diseases

There are exemptions for immunization for medical, moral, or religion reasons

MYTHS ABOUT IMMUNIZATIONS:

Giving a child more than one vaccine at a time increases the risk of harmful side effects and can overload the immune system

Vaccines cause autism

Children get too many immunizations

Knowing about immunization will be a teaching tool for me and will be an asset for my future because it will all me to have resources in regards to children and immunizations.
